“Give the pupils something to do, not something to learn; and the doing is of such a nature as to demand thinking; learning naturally results."
John Dewey

Oyster’s curriculum of high quality, experiential training programmes is focused on skills building, on unlocking “people potential” and on training others to unlock “people potential” for the purposes of Advancing Personal Excellence. With both workplace and workforce practices changing rapidly, with the serious competition that now exists for individuals seeking employment and organisations maintaining and developing their businesses and client base, now more than ever there is the necessity to engage in a process of life-long learning, continuously upgrading and acquiring new skills to keep pace and remain competitive and employable.
Our mission is to provide high quality, low bureaucracy, learner focused, personal, professional, and occupational skills development and training which is underpinned by the principles of access, transparency, quality, rigour and best practice.
Our continuing education programs are designed to facilitate ease of learning through a blended approach to programme delivery. Oyster advocates a skills based, experiential approach to training and builds ample case studies, skills practice and role play into its programmes to accommodate those situations where work based practice is not possible.
Oyster makes it’s programmes accessible to private individuals and to organisations through distance learning, open enrolment courses and customised in-house training.
Oyster has agreed its quality assurance procedures with FETAC and is registered with FETAC to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards in the National Framework of Qualifications.
Oyster is also registered in the FÁS and Enterprise Ireland jointly created National Register of Trainers.
